The update to the latest LTS 9 (9.9.1) of Sonarqube would require more work as it switches the default branch to main.

Nonetheless the update proposed there for the scanner makes still sense as it would be the latest bits that can be expected to be compatible with Sonarqube 8.9.

A benefit will be that the sonarqube version 9.7 which is currently the latest on macs will be compatible with that scanner version.
