COAR vocabulary "Resource Type" update #35
Comments
On 2022-09-29, COAR published the v3.1 at https://vocabularies.coar-repositories.org/resource_types/3.1/ .
The OpenAIRE Guidelines for institutional and thematic repositories use the persistant urls and for labeling the english terms. No action seems to be required. |
To briefly summarize some discussion emails with the Guidelines team: A precise classification of each vocabulary term is useful and assist the manager. The suggestion is to include this in the v4.1-rc . |
Additionally to the last comment, this would also clarify the question from issue #43. |
A proposal of the classification of each used COAR resourceType vocabulary term as an additional column of resourceTypeGeneral sub-property to the table could be found at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uDswMYHEZroUxRkfYH2SK4uKUHSiEqV8C-evYZp_oWQ/edit# . Additionally, the OpenAIRE vocabularies are accessible at https://api.openaire.eu/vocabularies/ , especially the publication_resources at https://api.openaire.eu/vocabularies/dnet:publication_resource . |
COAR has been released two new versions in 2021:
Currently, the guidelines use the "Resource Type" vocabulary v1.1 from 2016. Which is not mentioned in the XSD, #12
To make the guidelines backwards compatible, the new terms from version 3.0 are added and the removed terms are marked as deprecated, which means that they will be removed in a future version of the guidelines.
