right now there are 3 inconsistent ways of authentication, namely:

  • .oscrc for bugzilla (which does not make sense because its build service specific)
  • .netrc for github credentials
  • plaintext credentials for jenkis authentification

the idea is to think about a secure authentification plugin which serves all the api backends in one place

Jenkins support was dropped (for now, at least), but the next version add gitlab support, which means another set of credentials are added, which currently reside in config/config.yml
