To help scope our beta release, let's set all the goals we want to achieve.

  • Instrumentation compatibility with the global SDK
  • Instrumentation compatibility with our own SDK distro
  • Audit semantic conventions and ensure we support the latest
  • Document the required environment variables
  • Distribute a binary

Please comment additional tasks you see needed.

Would also add #639 (Remove support for Go versions below 1.17) or more clearly define our version support
