bitrate option fails to display on android for player v4.13.5

I'm using the followin encoding priority for my videos
['hls', 'dash', 'mp4'].

On a chrome desktop I see the option to change the bitrate but on all the android devices I have tested I am unable to get the bitrate icon to display. Earlier I had tried removing the mp4 option from the above array and it started to display. Now one hour later the bitrate option has disappeared.
This issue relates to chrome. I'm testing using Chrome 58 on android >= 4.4
