Currently, it is really hard to transfer one's tokens inside Emerald back to his consensus (Oasis) account.

One needs to copy his Oasis account's address beforehand and only then switch to his Ethereum-compatible account, open the ParaTimes tab, choose "To Consensus" and copy one's own consensus (Oasis) account address here:

It would be a substantial UI improvement if the wallet offer wallet's Oasis account's addresses as a drop down or something.

This should help mitigate the issue a lot of users are currently facing when they withdraw ROSE directly from their Emerald ParaTime account to their exchange (consensus) account.

Namely, the exchange might not recognize the deposit because it is not an ordinary consensus staking.Transfer transaction but a special ParaTime roothash.ExecutorCommit transaction which contains an event for withdrawing ROSE from a user's Emerald ParaTime account to the desired consensus account.

I lost a large amount of Rose tokens today because this fix was not implemented. I am incredibly sad. I sent the tokens to gate.io, and they claim that the tokens didn't get to them and so isn't their responsibility.

  1. Are my tokens permanently lost?
  2. As a fellow software guy, I am shocked at how this kind of flaw passed testing
  3. You can expect a lot of complaints like this as people begin to use the wallet.
  4. If you do not fix this, I will be be forced to apply for a job at Oasis just to fix this, and I will invoke my grandmother's spirit to torment you all with horrible disasters for causing me to lose my tokens

@Kc2fresh If you Ethereum-compatible account > ParaTimes > Emerald > To consensus and filled in Gate.io address, and your transaction succeeded, then Gate.io should have received tokens. But they might not automatically recognize that transaction type. If you find transaction id: you can check if it succeeded, and if it increased Gate.io address's balance.
