When running oasis paratime add, you need to enter description, the token name and the number of decimal symbols. The last two can be obtained automatically by calling https://github.com/oasisprotocol/oasis-sdk/blob/main/client-sdk/go/modules/accounts/accounts.go#L45. Unless --offline flag is explicitly provided, run the query and prefill denomination and number decimals.
