xtermjs disconnects seem a little aggressive

It seems xtermjs really likes to disconnect when the window has lost focus, even for a short period of time. I'm not sure if this is a problem that needs to be fixed yet (especially considering we have a notice now that tells the user to refresh the page to reconnect) but I'd like to know more about when these disconnects are taking place and why, and perhaps document this timeout behavior more prominently.
