I tried to do it at the foundation level but it has stalled.

This is a request for the project (or foundation) to fund an online course to train the moderation team.

Only a few people out of the original moderation team established in 2017 who underwent the training are still around and I believe with the new moderation team members it makes sense to provide them training.

I'm opening this issue to get a rough idea if it's possible to get funding for this and if we have a documented process for vendor selection. (Ideally, it wouldn't be more than a few thousand dollars for a 6-8 meeting zoom course + exercises).

If it's possible, I'm happy to ask around and look for relevant courses (similar to what Tracy did last time).

I think this can help reduce friction in the project and improve the quality of moderation.

I replied at the OpenJS level, honestly I think it's fine to do at the Node.js level if OpenJS has no capacity promoting this.

I feel that we would benefit a lot from this sort of training access in the moderation team in order to successfully moderate our large project. Someone picking this up and doing this at the OpenJS level would also accomplish that goal.

I think having a concrete proposal of it will cost $Y for $X people to take the course would help this move forward the most quickly. We could then ask if the Foundation can fund and go from there.

Of the 8 TSC members in the TSC meeting there were no concerns/objections to asking the OpenJS foundation for $ to do that.

Thanks, sorry for missing the meeting today (good reasons! I'm on holiday and my bandwidth is metered). I'll start looking for vendors. If there is anyone you'd recommend feel free to mention them and I'll send them a message asking for a bid.

I spoke with Christa (who provided the training last time) and she'll connect and give us a quote and options when she's back from traveling Jul 1st.

I'm also talking to a few other vendors.
