Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

Hi,

It's an UX request. When we scroll for a note, I think having excerpts may be distracting among notes titles when you start to scroll for finding a specific note. We could let people choosing to focus on notes title only.

Describe the solution you'd like
We could disable the excerpt for notes lists. Then the freed place could be tighten a bit so notes will go closer and the screen space more optimized for browsing large lists.

Describe alternatives you've considered
There could be a switch on parameters which activates or deactivates the notes preview. (Enabled by default to keep the current display)

Additional context
I made an approximate screenshot of what it could look like. Don't mind at spaces between notes, it's a dirty gimp edit. :)

EDIT: it looks almost the same as #684

Yeah, looks pretty much the same as #684.

However time has changed and i see two more points which support this request in the meantime:

  1. The Deck Android app also supports a "Compact mode"
  2. The implementation will cost way less maintenance than back in January 2020, because we now can simply always use TYPE_NOTE_ONLY_TITLE or TYPE_NOTE_WITHOUT_EXCERPT based on a compact mode preference instead of TYPE_NOTE_WITH_EXCERPT in ItemAdapter.
