Hi, I have a question regarding the gallery feature in the Nextcloud mobile app. Currently, it seems that photos in the gallery are sorted by the file creation date instead of the capture date stored in the photo metadata.
Would it be possible to change this behavior, or even better, to allow users to choose their preferred sorting method? For example:
by capture date,
by file creation date,
by file name.
It would also be great to have the option to select the sorting order (ascending/descending, alphabetically, etc.).
Thank you for your response and for the great work on the app!

In past we did not stored this info.
Since a couple of NC releases we extract these info during upload on server.
But this means that not all images have this info.
Server would need to first scan all images and add missing infos, which is in very big installation a very big task.
I understand. I currently have 41 GB of photos on nextcloud. Unfortunately, they all show as having been taken in January 2025. Is there a way to sort the photos correctly by date in the gallery?
