Hi, unpatched versions of Vim are known to contain major problems including crashes.
I suggest you use either latest available version from Vim Mercurial repo or, alternatively, pick a few dozen patches after release from Vim FTP (ftp://ftp.vim.org/pub/vim/patches/7.4)
