high battery usage overnight #19
Comments
This new view about battery usage is not very handy. Here molly is around 4% for 6 hours. Which is high if you use unifiedpush. And I don't see anything wrong in the logs. Can you try to disable battery optimization ? You have to enable “Allow background usage” (which is already allowed), and the click on this label to open a new menu, then thick “Unrestricted”. |
Yep, I'll try it out and let you know how it goes |
That solved it! |
It is OK to use some battery if you use it. There is also the backup job that can take some resources. Nevertheless, I can give a look at your logs if you want |
As it shows, I have used it only for 39mins in more than 24h, and only 2-4 min of voice calling during entire period. I already have scheduled backups disabled because it uses a lot of battery especially if app data size is large. And i'm mostly using wifi. On mobile data it sometimes become more than 20-40%. Even with normal usage, either on mobile data/wifi, isn't it expected to use up to 5% at most? Just trying to understand how much it should use for normal(mostly idle) usage. And does/can it correlate in any way to the app data size?
Sure, would debug logs from the app help? |
Is there an existing issue for this?
Bug description
I'm getting high battery usage from molly overnight even tho I'm using molly-UP, with mollysocket and ntfy all set up. It used to not drain so much
In these screenshots the vpn uses a lot, the night before the vpn battery use was minimal and it was all molly
Steps to reproduce
1.Set up molly-UP, mollysocket, and ntfy
2.leave molly unlocked overnight
