https://docs.digitalocean.com/products/platform/availability-matrix/ suggests we could run it in Frankfurt (new Hetzner) and you can access it over the public internet... so we could go with DigitalOcean for PostgreSQL even if we don't use them for anything else.. We would have to do this as part of moving @ssoriche thoughts? Side notes... I did look at |

Created #59 to setup CloudNativePG - as we want postgres and managing Digial Ocean separately just for Pg wouldn't be sensible |

Depending on the hosting solution, there are two options. If we're hosting with DigitalOcean, they offer a hosted PostgreSQL service starting at $15/month. This removes the requirement of running the server ourselves and offloads the processing and storage requirements from our servers.
Staying with hosting in kubernetes ourselves, there's the CloudNativePG operator https://cloudnative-pg.io/. This operator creates the database servers, replicas and sets up replication and failure over based on a database declaration in the kubernetes manifests.
