Due to the latest update, your suggestion is to just load the library into our files. There are some unclear areas. If we do so, we cannot use the Material Theme Builder to update the library. If we create local styles and replace the library styles with the instances, it does not work very well.
If we open the library in a new file, there are no dark states. Additionally, the library now only applies the scheme colors. What is the best practice here when we only have local styles?

Figma suggests to use the library UI kits as is, while they can be rethemed or customized, this could result in losing overrides when the kit pushes an update.
If you don't mind not having regular updates and want more customization, then duplicating the kit is suggested.
