Not very rigorous unit tests

The unit tests are currently written for an environment without a static database, so the assertions in the tests are quite vague and unspecific.

As of September 2020, a static database for testing is included in the repository and automatically loaded on test execution, so tests can be rewritten to make much more specific assertions about what data they retrieve.
