Feature Request: Resampling (before sampling)

to resample and allow the user to assign the sample to another key with edits would be easier than taking an external signal and recording it right? at the least, you wouldnt need the input hardware. is this possible? it would be great to phrase sample yourself and add the result to a key easily. can you create a file instead of outputting the audio stream? or in addition to outputting a stream, also create a file. it can be edited later on.
