We need Contributor Guidelines with a clear description explaining how volunteers can contribute to this project by adding new text, making revisions and commenting on issues.

I made some progress on this issue last week by sketching out a list of resources in a blog post and by presenting that as a workshop at THATCamp Philadelphia. Thanks to @jennyferretti for taking notes in this Google Doc.

I still need to turn this into a more step-by-step guide for getting new users started with contributing to the project.
