The Visual Studio 2019 build image from AppVeyor works perfectly for sql server (2017) and mysql (v5). Generated columns are only supported from mysql (v8).
There is an image in appveyor that has this combination of services, it is the Ubuntu2004 image, however when trying to use this image, the tests fail to connect to the SQL Server database server. There is some indication that this could be a known issue (a 'release note' indicates a message saying that it's not supported yet).
