This was an intentional design decision, but in the future I may revisit it. Unfortunately, I don't have any estimate of when that might be.

Just wanted to support this bug/missing feature. Right now this app is basically useless to me, since I cannot use it for running (sprint series). I'm a programmer, but I've never done anything with android. I could have a look if you want, but I don't really have time.

Chiming in: I had a workout pinned on Instagram and for the first block I was popping over at the rest to see what was next. The solution is to write down my workout, but it was frustrating to have the rest timer stop because the app lost focus.

We'd need a different way to pause the timer if this change was implemented, however, which adds another layer.
