The core of the problem is that we had a days long outage of imager-server and other library.kiwix.org related services.

  • With the current setup the risk that an master storage outage happens again is relatively high because a technical or a contractual problem
  • The point is that we suspect that the demo is pretty much DMCA prone

Ideas:

  • Move the catalog outside the storage and make him redundant and easy to cache (CDN)
  • Move the demo to an other server/endpoint: in the style of demo.library.kiwix.org
  • Decouple the mirror manager from the ZIM storage
