Octopart seems to have a really rad BOM builder. I like the idea of your open source one more, but in the meantime, would be great to send items to a BOM much like a specific site's cart.

You mean export to the Octopart tool? I think it can import CSV.

I was imagining the plugin pushing to octopart to create a BOM in the same way it pushes to shopping carts. A shareable BOM seems to be possible to create anonymously by posting and visiting the created URL?
