Cuz popline is not a server side plugin, it can not support upload feature without server side function. Popline is easy to extend, checkout code from https://github.com/kenshin54/popline/tree/master/scripts/plugins, write your customize uploader.

@kenshin54 I was also thinking if you can build plugin for insert image through link and by that you wont need server side function.
