On Debian 11/LXC: "NewInstall.sh: line 409: [: =: unary operator expected" and install script quits #8

On a fresh LXC container with Debian 11 or 12 on Proxmox, right after executing the install script, it shows

root@zoneminder:~# chmod +x NewInstall.sh && bash NewInstall.sh
NewInstall.sh: line 22: lsb_release: command not found
Detected Debian-based distribution: 
Are you sure you want to install Zoneminder? [y/n]: y
NewInstall.sh: line 409: [: =: unary operator expected
You can now connect to Zoneminder at 192.168.1.175/zm
root@zoneminder:~#

Any idea what could cause this?
