I tested the scroll example as in the readme, and it seemed to work on terminals but not on firefox. Is this a known issue?

scroll doesn't work on Firefox for me.
Firefox 78.0.1

However scroll works on emacs, urxvt for me.

And scroll doesn't work on zathura or atril.

(This is as much I have tested so far.)

Here is an interesting case:
keyanv's scroll works on vanilla urxvt. but doesn't work on if I have ncurses application running on it, for example ranger. However scrolling from the actual physical device (that is my mouse/ trackpad) works even on ranger.

Hi, I think keynav uses xdotool and I had a bit of trouble setting up xdotool with my own i3 binding (without keynav) because the binding used modifiers so I was mistakenly not asking for "scroll down" but "ctrl + scroll down" etc.

Might be completeley irrelevant but it took me a while to figure out so I figured it was better to point it out.

edit : click 4 and click 5 works for me on firefox, ubuntu 18 and ff 79

There is some "focus" issue happening with these. At least for me.

For example, if I just unpaused a youtube video with a click.

  1. bare "click 4" or "click 5" won't work/scroll
  2. mouse wheel movement will work
  3. "xdotool click 4" or 5 will work
  4. "click 4, warp" will work (like described in "click 1" not work when current pointer located on keynav window line without "warp"? #35) however this have the issue of losing the cursor position.

As a workaround I have both versions click and click+warp.

This happens to me with other programs that aren't firefox.

Edit: nvm, I think I missunderstood how keynav is suppose to work. The focus is always on the center of the grid. Not in the current mouse position. Or at least that's how it behaves for me. So it makes sense I have to warp before scrolling or doing a right click.
