Lots of empty space at bottom of page on mobile

When you open a side panel it creates a lot of redundant empty space on the page.

Oh weird! Thanks for reporting this, @dillfrescott. I'm able to reproduce in Chromium when emulating a mobile device.

This would be a good introductory issue for someone else to pick up if I don't get it soon, so I'll add the "good first issue" label.

That's odd. I'm not able to reproduce this on my iPhone SE (iOS 17.4.1):

@brentonv that explains it. I recommend updating your iOS, but I'm also open to accepting a PR that fixes this for older iOS versions.
