The ment.io dropdown is not working when adding mentio-select.

when i am adding the mentio-select directive to the element having mentio directive, the selected item is not showing in text area, also gets an console error. "TypeError: text is undefined[Learn More]". but when i remove the mentio-select directive and the plugin is working fine. I also added the mentio-menu directive and custom template, but this time the is not even the dropdown is displayed. what am i doing wrong.
