I recently migrated from R to Python for data analysis and I've been looking for something equivalent to karyoploteR in R and came across this repo. I'm wondering if you have any plans to further develop this package to expand its functionality?
A few things that I can think of being useful:
Custom genome support
Scatter plot for "GWAS-like" data
Density plot for expression, variant, coverage data
Gene tracks for genes, mRNA, and other epigenetic markers
multiple panels to draw on to combine different plots into one
If this seems interesting to you, I'd be happy to contribute. As far as I know, there isn't a python package like this out there and while all of these are doable with matplotlib, a high-level package will significantly simplify the process.
