Defining custom keybindings

Custom keybindings are very essential for productivity. Let's say you want to open up the equation dialog (provided by equation plugin) quickly without using mouse, how would you do that?

Two ways to do this:

Method-1

One method is by changing the accelerators as mentioned here: http://www.zim-wiki.org/manual/Help/Key_Bindings.html. Scroll down the mentioned page to see the section "Changing accelerators".

Method-2 (more powerful)
