A user on Discord suggested we make the data directory configurable from within the Node App.

Message (link):

Hello, just run iron app on Mac Intel. I've searched setting to change default blokchain location without success. Default location is $HOME and as you know, Apple is very cheapskate around hard drive capacity. So I've just made a symbolic link $HOME/.ironfish to external drive and it works.
But what should be cool is to choose location at app first launch. Thank you !

IMO, that's a really good point. We should consider making that editable from within the node settings as well, not just during onboarding.

Maybe the meta feature request here is to make the configs file be configurable from the node app. This will allow users to also switch network IDs from the node app itself too.

Would appreciate it if you could be allowed to set the datadir, as i do not want to resync the whole chain. I already have the chain synced from using the ironfish node via CLI ( the node app before the gui was released, installed via npm i -G ironfish )

and it is not located in the default directory, i specifically want to use a seperate storage device on my system, and not the main c drive nor the user settings / roaming locations in windows.

until then i will still be using the Core Node wallet via CLI
