https://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/benachrichtigungen-bei-abonnement-eines-unterf/

Feature Request:

  • User subscribes a Forum
  • (currently) User receives notifications about new topics
  • (feature request) User wants to receive notifications about new posts in existing topics

-> Do we change the behavior of subscribed forums or do we introduce another type of subscription?

(IMO the first option)

-> Do we change the behavior of subscribed forums

Then we produce probably a lot of unwanted notifications.

do we introduce another type of subscription?

Possible, but i dont know yet how easy it is to implement.

A third option is IMO to provide a button to subscribe to all existing topics in the forum once. For new threads in the future, the existing workflow (only get notification for new threads in forum; if you want to be notified about new posts subscribe to the thread separately) would be the same .

That's precisely the solution which I (mubuntuHH) was thinking of. It would be such a great easement.
