I tried 3 times with a virtual machine and 2 times with just a PC with Ubuntu reinstalled, but all failed...
I did a google search and didn't find any tutorials...

I tried and failed to get this working on hirsute. No luck with Ubuntu on WSL either. I would really appreciate some documentation for getting it working on other operating systems, or at least some documentation on what is supported and known to work.
