How to debug Wukong-hadoop #20

I cannot debug wukong hadoop even in local mode with ruby-debug using debugger gem, also cannot do naive debugging such as using puts to display my results. Kindly suggest a way to debug wu-hadoop applications (even if it applies to only using it in local mode).
