Numix Tips:

  • Convert all strokes to path
  • Convert squares to path
  • Convert circles to path
  • Convert fonts to path
  • Do not use paths to hide some part of other paths (in this case integrate them)
  • You should align the icons to the grid when possible to avoid blurry icons
  • On mimetype icons the ideal is to keep the symbols just monochromatic
  • Except just a few cases, the icons should be made for all sizes available in Numix: 16,22,24,32,48,64
  • You can't define the icon as other license than GPL v3 or further GPL version, which is used on Numix Icon project
  • Do not add a copyright notice of you to avoid conflict with the project's license
  • The font common used on mimetypes and some others icons is Ubuntu Mono, if used as mimetype title uses bold instead of regular
  • Remove any unnecessary parts that will not be showed on icon, it'll reduce the file size and the rendering time
  • Try to keep the modern and flat style on icons
  • Avoid copyrighted material that was not directly related to icon itself.
