search box cannot be used #70

Well, according to your screenshot it is useable. |
I have this issue as well, I think it's a confusion with what the box does. I would expect (as would many coming to the documentation) that if you search in the box, it would search the entire documentation for the words you enter. What seems to be happening, as evidenced in the screenshot above, is that it searches the active resource only. So for example, if I search 'grav' it would highlight 'Grav' on the homepage. Expected behaviour when using a search box which appears to be site-wide, would be to return the search result list filtered by pages containing the phrase that was searched - in this case 'Grav'. |
I had the same issue (by default works as a "find within page" function) ... YET wait up! - If you install the "Grav SimpleSearch Plugin" This full dynamic search (like Grav docs) magically is available. - I haven't dug around in the code, so cant comment further... but worked for me :-D PS - I guess since this is open for a few years.. (?!?) you've all moved on from worrying about this - but hopefully helpful for others |
