Make it possible for the user to map fields to the EMOF extension.
For interoperability purposes, this could be done using MiXS environmental packages to standardise fieldnames.

Workflow:

  • User picks a mixs template (soil, freshwater etc)
  • User picks a term from the mixs template
  • Maps it to a term in the raw data
  • Adds a unit

Should the selected unit be stored in the BIOM files as well or only added in the DWC?

If a MIxS term is named correctly already in the uploaded data, we should be able to identify it, irrespective of what extension is is part of? Just by looking in the full list of terms: https://genomicsstandardsconsortium.github.io/mixs/term_list/
