Replace the Report query field with a form. Suggestion for fields:

Search query (free text field)
created by (me, not me, user x)
created by group (editors, ...)
During relative period (today, past week, past month)
status (draft, live, ...)
order (created date, last edited date)
order (asc, desc)
???
