Feature Request

Description of Problem:

Check that an instantiation is intact, valid calm and has good unique-id references, without requiring a pattern.

Right now pattern is a required property on the validate command.

Potential Solutions:

Modify the command to run reduced validations when only an instantiation is passed, similar to how we did pattern-only validation
