There are situations when we need to specify that a location is off-limits. The most common cases are:

  • Locations on private land for which the landowners want to prohibit harvesting (or private locations on public land – e.g. public parking strip). The location is tagged but stays on the map so as not to be re-added by a user.
  • Locations in protected areas where foraging is prohibited. Location should be displayed with a warning and only visible to the author (see https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ah6jKO9uizBqeBtTVoIXi51gpYEQEyYzzastcMKOp5Y/edit?tab=t.0).
  • Potential dumpster locations (e.g. grocery store) that cannot be harvested (e.g. dumpster is locked or a compactor). The location is tagged but stays on the map so that dumpster divers can easily see which locations have already been scouted.

Is there a word or phrase in English that can be used in both cases?

  • Closed
  • Not permitted / possible

In some cases, it may be beneficial to only allow admins to un-close a location. Perhaps locations could also be "locked"?
