Some white are yellow or red flashing ? #88

Hello, I built 4 versions of adrilight for family and friends. And last time something like this occured to me was due to a weak power source. How many led do you have and how powerful is your power source to power up your led ? |
Thanks for the answer. I have a Big TV (75") so i almost have 595 leds
approx.
Power supply is dc5v 40a for led ws2812b
Led 5050smd 96leds/m
28.8w/m (on the article description page)
€ 1,85 44%OFF | DC5V WS2812B 1m/4m/5m 30/60/74/96/144 pixels/leds/m Smart
led pixel strip,Black/White PCB,WS2812 IC;WS2812B/M,IP30/IP65/IP67
https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/FG8FkNg8
The strip is connected on an Arduino mega. (Uno was not able to handled so
much led, seems to be AT first try)
Do you still think it could be the power supply that is not enough?
Its working perfectly except when display fast appear full white screen and
Brown almost appear flashy red. As i described
Thanks you si much for the help

In order to solve your problem I would :
I had issue like this with my first build, some colors were weird sometimes, not always. Here are my math when I encountered the issue. See how much one of your led consumes and replace number accordingly and that might give you a hint. |
Hello
After few more tests , it seems that all the bottom and left side is
flashing /blinking in red when white picture Comes.
The same parts of the strip Cant be pink or Brown still be red. But only
with this side.
the 2 others sides are working perfect. and the defective part is working
well with red blue green yello black..
If it Can help to find a way out please friends

- try another Arduino
- try another power supply unit
- try other LEDs

sometimes, not always.
Here are my math when I encountered the issue.
I'm running 12V ws2011 LED where I am right now.
One led 0.02 A multiplied by 186 = 3.72 A (
(186x0.02=3.72)
So 3.72 x 12 v = 44.64 W
See how much one of your led consumes and replace number accordingly and
that might give you a hint.

the led strips make a white color by turning red, green and blue on. white is the most power hungry color. Every led chip needs 60mA as a maximum. Either your power supply is still too small or you should connect VCC and GND on both sides of the led strip to your power supply. Do not connect the Data pin on the other side! How many LEDs do you have? You have roughly 4 meters of strip which translates to roughly 400 LEDs. 400*60mA = 24000mA or 24A. Your power supply should be big enough. So the best guess from me is, should add more power cables. Either to the other end of the strip or somewhere in between. for example at one edge. The strip is so thin and it has to transport so many amps.... a real cable is better for this task! |
Thanks for the answer i just remade my cable connection there was a little
play that cause some of the problems.
The only thing remaining is white red blinking when appear and whites
turning more yellow at end of the led strip approach.
I have 498leds ws2812b and a power supply 5v 40a.
I am french so not perfect english speaker : if i understood correctly i
should add an other incoming 5v on the end or in the middle?
I Guess i Can Do it
Nb: i just tried when i wrote to reduce by sliders in white balance mod
and if i reduce from 88 to 75 it is not flashing anymore and if i reduce
again whites are more white on all sides. AT 50 whites are quite perfect si
i Guess you are right Fabian. Less brightness solve the problems so it
needs a second power entry in the strip.
You are a genius thanks you.
I will try to find the better way to add 5v cable from my ambilight box (in
old internet box) to the half of strips (I have a 4k TV 75" so i have a
long cable to add ^^)
Thanks again have nice night

Hello
I use since few monthes this wonderful Adrilight and results are awesome, thank you for that.
Sometimes, for example here on github, adrilight displaying, bottom and left are ambilighted in yellow and up and left in white.
When a gamebooting or in movie appear an all white picture, same problem with some bottom/lef red flash blink.
On the "send random colors" function, works fine and when it is the red turn, flash/blink until the colors change and work again perfectly.
I first thank about a material problem but when i'm on desktop the "windows search" bar in taskbar is ambilighted in white, when i tried to move a "paint" all white and make it turn around the border of the screen, white ambilight follow nicely.
Anybody who have already experienced this ? Known problem or maybe i made a settings mistake, or else ?
Thanks for the help
All hail fabsenet ;)
