How does a group of people or projects agree on and publish a manifesto? Something that ties them together on a fundamental level.
How does that DAO then publish and distribute that manifesto? Publish a website? On IPFS?
How do new members sign the manifesto and join the group? How might members leave the group or fork the manifesto if changes are made that they don't agree with?
Example manifestos (some existing, some new ideas):
Free software Definition
Manifesto for Decentralized Software
The Holstee Manifesto
Frank Lloyd Wright’s 10-Point Manifesto for His Apprentices
The Department of Decentralization Code of Conduct
A local community that cares about a city, published a manifesto to support their fundamental views and actions.
Imagine if those would be written and evolved by DAOs where each member signs up to support the manifesto publicly.
Being part of many communities, local, international, and distributed I know that manifestos help to fundamentally align groups and support decision making.
Goal:
Set up the DAO and find the best parameters to create a simple, manifesto-based group
find a way to create a manifesto, publish it somehow and distribute online
make all pieces as decentralized as possible
Hit me up if:
you know or want to know more about DAOs
want to write simple publishing tools (markdown to IPFS?)
want to contribute to a manifesto
want to design sweet UIs
want to work on turning DAO votes into a shareable manifesto
Or generally care about how communities can come together to organize on fundamental direction of a project.
