If a loop is synchronised to itself then the state seems to "sync" seems to oscillate on and off which is disturbing and may impact performance. It would be advantageous to break this feedback loop.
slgui does not seem to suffer this issue. Maybe it avoids the situation but it would be advantageous for other OSC clients to have this safeguard built into the SooperLooper engine, i.e. if a loop is requested to sync to itself then the continuous toggle of sync on/off OSC messages from engine is suppressed.
One might suggest the client avoid this but this can add extra logic in each client, e.g. remembering the previous states of settings, etc.
