I think it would be great for obsidian.nvim to have an option to generate relative markdown links to other files in a vault/workspace. Not relative to the workspace root, but relative to the current file.
Basically, this option in Obsidian:
This is a really handy option, as it makes the links valid even outside the context of Obsidian (or obsidian.nvim). Without this, any other tool shows these as dead links.
Alternatives
I did come across this discussion, in which it seems the OP got this or something like it working via a custom markdown_link_func function.
But I think this functionality is common enough to warrant a simple config option. That would certainly make me more confident that it would work, backlinks will be correctly detected, and so on! (As opposed to my own special-sauce version, or a copy-pasted function from the above discussion.)
Additional context
Thank you!
