Description

While disabling email verification has the intended effect on regular login, it is still required when choosing "Forgot password" in order to use the recovery code. This could be problematic in a situation where the codes stored in Auth are required to access the email account in question, and it is not clear when backing up the recovery key that this is not the only piece of information required to regain access to the account.

Version

v2.0.42

What product are you using?

Ente Auth

What platform are you using?

Mobile - iOS

Hello,

Yes, this is currently the intended behaviour.

There are potential workaround for this, but we don't have the bandwidth to prioritize it. This login flow was designed keeping photos in mind, before Auth was built.

We will keep this ticket open, and hopefully come up with a solution by end of this year.
