GitHub has this neat feature called Community where they show you a checklist with all the points we need to cover to make this project FOSS-compliant.

So far, we've got 3 out of 6 tasks done:

  • Description
  • README
  • Code of conduct
  • Contributing
  • License
  • Issue or pull request template

They also have this link for more in-depth information regarding open-source projects.
