Element call: give audio feedback while waiting

EX should give a feedback ringing tone when the callee phone has started ringing.

Outcome

Ringing tone when a call using EC is made

No sounds whatsever to indicate that called device is ringing.

Can pls define your use-case a bit more in detail? Is it about group calls or DM calls etc.

This is about DM call acting like traditional phone. When you call somebody using a phone you get a local feedback of a ring. In EC there is no sound when calling somebody. EA (1:1) has the feature but EX does not.

What would you like to do?

When I call someone through Element Call, I want to be able to tell when the other person has picked up without having to stare at the screen.

Why would you like to do it?

Because I want to be able to look elsewhere while I wait.

How would you like to achieve it?

I'd like Element X to behave like other apps: ring while you're waiting for someone to pick up, stop ringing (and maybe give some additional audio feedback) when someone picks up. (the latter aspect seems to be covered by #2794)
