Linux Snap Installation package does not include mosquitto

Snap Installation Package include everything but no mosquitto, is this intentional?

System Specs:

Window 11, WSL2

What I did:

sudo snap install mosquitto

Result/Observation:

mosquitto.ctrl@    mosquitto.pub@     mosquitto.sub@     mosquitto_pub@     mosquitto_sub@
mosquitto.passwd@  mosquitto.rr@      mosquitto_passwd@  mosquitto_rr@

Notes:

• Everything works correctly, such as pub/sub. However, I can not run mosquitto.

sudo: mosquitto: command not found

• according to the documentation, I should have a binary called mosquitto that I can run. Am I missing something?

The snap installs mosquitto as a service which you can start/stop with e.g. snap start mosquitto. There are some details on the configuration requirements at https://mosquitto.org/documentation/using-the-snap/

Thank you for the reply! Yes it makes sense now. It's not very obvious since you can run mosquitto_sub or mosquitto_pub without snap, but you need to use snap to start/stop the service.
@ralight can we put the note somewhere in the documentation?
