Idea Summary

Overview

An entirely on-chain checkers game leveraging Starknet’s Layer 2 using Dojo framework.

Core Idea

Our goal is to use Starknet’s low-cost, high-throughput network to create an engaging, fully decentralized checkers game on Dojo. All game logic player moves, validations, and win conditions is implemented with smart contracts on Starknet, ensuring complete transparency and fairness.

Key Features

  • Fully Onchain Gameplay on Mainnet: All interactions occur on the Starknet blockchain.
  • Scalable Solution: Starknet enables low transaction costs and avoids Layer 1 congestion.
  • Immutable Game Logic: Complete decentralization and trustless gameplay.

Target Audience

  • Blockchain enthusiasts interested in decentralized applications.
  • Gamers seeking fair, provably secure games.
  • Developers and contributors in the Starknet ecosystem.

This version is concise and highlights your development goals and recent achievements effectively.

Background

Background

Recently, the team at The Marquis launched the first version of a studio dedicated to developing on-chain mini-games, utilizing Scaffold Stark, Flutter, and Random. Our debut game, Ludo, is now available on mobile for both Android and iOS through the app stores. We’re now expanding our offerings with a second game, Checkers, developed using Dojo on Starknet.
