Android-Backup import fails on Desktop #6466
Comments
Going to Settings -> Advanced -> Server > Password and Account -> + Advanced and changing stuff and saving that fixed it. |
@Joshix-1 Thank you for your report. Since the release of version 1.46.8, there have been a lot of changes, so importing a backup from a far newer version might not be successful anyway. (The current Desktop version is 1.52.0, BTW.) Closing here. Have fun with Delta Chat! :) |
This is also a duplicate of #2294 |
That wasn't available when I opened the issue. I tried it also on the then latest commit (deltachat/deltachat-desktop@cab5c42). So I tried on the latest Desktop and Android versions.
https://delta.chat/en/help#multiclient doesn't mention that both devices should use the same version.
That issue is closed.
I will, but that is just bad UX. I wouldn't fault anyone for giving up after that experience. DeltaChat should either not import the backup or try to fix the config. Failing with a cryptic error message really sucks. |
0.5s [E]core/event: 1 Failed to start IO: Invalid configured_imap_certificate_checks value
~/.config/DeltaChat/accounts/<uuid>/dc.db
contains the config table:After setting configured_imap_certificate_checks and configured_smtp_certificate_checks to 0 it complains about:
0.5s [E]core/event: 1 Failed to start IO: Incomplete IMAP connection parameters
it doesn't give me any indication to what is wrong. And having to manually modify a sqlite db is kinda bad ux. Is there documenation that would make that easier?
