We are evaluating a base package from which to provide GovUK design system support to React-based projects within another government department

We love the look of your project - and NotGovUK seems like the only package which is currently in active development and tracks the current version of GDS accuarately. It would be great to know whether the project will be supported long term, and whether you would be able to actively accept contributions to it in a timely manner if they fit the overall project vision.

It'd be great to hear from you!

Hi @wildtangent.

I've been maintaining this project for a few years now, and it's still under active development. Maintaining this is very much something I do at the side of my desk, but that is often the case for open-source projects, so I don't think that is a cause for great concern.

In the long run, it would be great to get this project adopted more centrally, but it's tricky because it is of interest to multiple departments, but probably less so to GDS or CDDO, as they are more concerned with public services and so favour only server-side rendering for accessibility reasons (hence Nunjucks being the standard offering).

In the meantime, PRs are welcome (although it's usually best to raise an issue first to ensure we are aligned on the direction). It sometimes takes me a few weeks to deal with issues / PRs raised by outside contributors, but that's more to do with me not being very good at spotting GitHub notifications amongst all of the noise. If you are working at a government department, we could look at finding some sort of communication channel so you can poke me.

Is there anything else I can tell you? I'd be happy to set up a chat at some point if that would be helpful?

Best regards,

Daniel.

(I've tried e-mailing you, but I'm not certain if I've got the right person.)
